Peter Fischli’s mother was Italian and a member of “Giustizia e Libertà”, an anti-fascist resistance movement founded by Italian refugees in Paris, 1929. She moved to Switzerland after WWII.

Francoise Hardy sings “Il ragazzo della Via Gluck” (1966) by Adriano Celentano, who wrote the song from his childhood memories of Via Gluck—incidentally the street Paratore also lived in Milan. Hardy had initially covered and recorded the song in French (“La Maison Ou J’Ai Grandi”) the same year, but soon performed an alternate version with the original Italian lyrics, where the singer’s mother tongue becomes pronounced: “Questa è la storia di uno di noi…”
