For Volcano Extravaganza 2013 Lucile Desamory presents her new film ‘Abracadabra’ with an outdoor screening that is also the Italian première.

Lucile Desamory (b. 1977, lives in Berlin) started making films in 1997 with the short slapstick movie Crachat. Since then her practice has evolved from minimal horror (Vandales et Vampires 1999, Lʼinfirmière cannibale 2000) to stop motion animation (À lʼombre de lʼhyperboloide 2004, Haut les Coeurs 2007). Her films have been showed internationally: at the Fondation Cartier pour lʼart contemporain and Cinémathèque Française in Paris; the ICA, BFI and Barbican Art Centre in London; and the Palais des Beaux Arts Cinémathèque Royale de Belgique in Brussels.
In parallel and from 2000 on, Desamory started making collages and working with fabrics. In her broad practice, Desamory has collaborated with Kevin Blechdom, Nicholas Bussmann and Luke Fowler on film and music, Birgit Megerle and Lucy McKenzie on installations and film, among others.
