Emily Sundblad: Dichterliebe/Divine Bitches Part Two

Emily Sundblad presented the third in a series of immersive performances and environments for The Magazine Sessions. ‘Dichterliebe/Divine Bitches Part Two’ was an erotic collage operetta featuring Juliana Huxtable and was the second instalment of a collaborative performance work originally conceived for The Kitchen, New York in April 2015.

Texts written by Sundblad and Huxtable (and some taken from online porn sites) were punctuated by Lieder from Robert Schumann’s song cycle ‘Dichterliebe’, and hit songs rearranged as classical choral compositions by Peter Drungle. ‘Dichterliebe/Divine Bitches Part Two’ also featured Ken Okiishi, as well as a vocal performance by Musarc.
