On Tuesday 1 April 2014, Nicoletta Fiorucci hosted the launch of MAXXI’s new programme at the headquarters of the Fiorucci Art Trust in London. The event included a talk between Hou Hanru, Artistic Director of the MAXXI and Stella Bottai, Junior Curator of the Fiorucci Art Trust. Some of Fiorucci’s latest acquisitions were on display, including Marc Camille Chaimowicz; Prem Sahib, Celia Hempton; Sergei Tcherepnin and Goshka Macuga. Cooking Sections presented a new cocktail recipe, conceived specially for MAXXI, and food design studio Arabeschi di Latte presented a menu titled ‘Talking About Art’, which also featured statements by artist Edward Morgan. The cocktails and the menu were donated to MAXXI and are the very first example of food-concepts to become part of the museum’s collection.

The launch was attended by artists Prem Sahib, Celia Hempton, Samara Scott and Patrizio di Massimo among others. Other guests included institutional representatives such as Julia Peyton-Jones, Director of Serpentine Gallery, and Aaron Cezar, Director of the Delfina Foundation; but also Annette Hofmann, Beatrice Bulgari, Pepi Marchetti, Mirella Haggiag, Maria Luisa Frisa (Curator of Bellissima, the exhibition that will open at MAXXI in December 2014) and many others.
